Description
First Black Nation is a story of the January 12th, 2010 earthquake in Haiti told through music, informed by the heartbreaking reports I heard on the radio, and the images I saw on television broadcasts as it unfolded. Writing this music was my way of dealing with the unimaginable catastrophe. It is my hope this will help memorialize the souls lost so tragically, and to remind us to cherish our every breath. Composed by Michael-Louis Smith ©2012 Michael-Louis Smith - guitar Stacy Dillard - saxophone Diallo House - bass Ismail Lawal - drums Victor Gould - piano Recorded May 20th 2012 by Andy Carballeira at The Record Company Boston MA Mixed By Andy Carballeira at The Magic Shop New York, NY Mastered by Warren Russell-Smith at The Magic Shop New York, NY Produced by Michael-Louis Smith.
