Exes & ohs

As music journalist, Ned Raggett (SPIN Magazine, All Music Guide) aptly puts it: 'It's one thing to have that technical ability and another to make it work, and Wood does -- her music suggests such artists as Carole King and Carly Simon. That may seem a throwback in an era of Alanis Morrissette and Gwen Stefani but, like Tori Amos, say, Wood reinterprets the past through her own particular vision, and does it quite well.' 'Exes and Ohs' is a soulful collection of philosophical ruminations on the universal themes of living, loving and loss...never short on emotive and memorable melodies...this record is designed for 'repeat' on your player. American singer-songwriter, Catharine Wood, was born in the eye of a typhoon on the tiny island of Hong Kong when the Bee Gees were hot and Carole King was cool. Having blown around full circle, landing in the epicenter of the entertainment industry as a singer/songwriter and TV music composer, Wood now brings you 'Exes and Ohs' from Los Angeles, California. After years 'behind the board' as a professional engineer, making other artists' songs 'come to life', she's returned to her first love of songwriting with her third full length album.
