Molly payton –

Eternity (vinyl) (pre-order)

The story of Molly Payton’s eternity starts with a cafe’s record player. Spending her days at work listening to the greats, wondering exactly how timeless songs are built, Payton set her mind to hard work. She spent more time reading and writing away from the guitar, and started reworking old material and unfinished ideas, scraps of old songs abandoned out of a callow belief that a great song comes immediately or not at all. She spent her time listening to the discographies of life-long idols; Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Elliot Smith, and also Americana influences like Wednesday, MJ Lenderman, Pinegrove, Big Thief and Sun Kil Moon.
