Description
This is pianist Michael Wolff's second recording as a leader of his innovative band Impure Thoughts. The darkly alluring vibe running throughout this well-named collection can truly intoxicate the listener, giving the second offering by his band a strong appeal to the jam band" crowd, world beat enthusiasts, and jazz aficionados alike. It delves even deeper into the drone tone territory that Wolff & company explored on their last release. Inspired partly by Miles Davis' "Bitches Brew," "In a Silent Way" & "On the Corner," this CD places the acoustic piano at the heart of Indian tablas & Brazilian percussion."
