Possum ridge string band –

On the road again

The Possum Ridge String Band plays Old-Time and Celtic music. Performers on this album include: Whit Whitfield (hammered dulcimer, autoharp), Sam Driver (guitar), E.J. Burke (fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, vocals), Peter Bramley (banjo, tenor banjo), Rannie Winn (whistles), and the late Russ Myers (rhythm bones, storytelling). If you are new to Old-Time music, this is a great 'play-along' album presenting straightforward versions of Old-Time and Celtic favorites. For aficionados of the rhythm bones, this is a 'must-have' album with the best recordings of master bones player Russ Myers, plus his original stories about the historical context of the bones, and a short dissertation on how to play the bones. This is your best opportunity to 'click along with Russ'.
