Description
Widely acclaimed for their recordings of English Renaissance and German Romantic choral music as well as twentieth-century works from France, The Gents now venture across the ocean to the new world with a CD that takes them to the bright lights of Broadway. Jetse Bremer has specially arranged a selection of compositions by George Gershwin for soprano soloist, choir and instruments that takes full advantage of the vocal flexibility and homogeneous sound of The Gents. Soprano soloist Johannette Zomer lends an element of classical flavor to the program, creating a blend that balances Gershwin's wide-ranging musical inspirations to perfection.
