Description

'André Gagnon Baroque' features the classic Mes quatre saisons (1969) and Les Turluteries (1972) by Canadian pianist and composer André Gagnon (b. 1936) in a new rendition scored for harpsichord and orchestra and performed here by Jean-Willy Kunz and the period instrument l'Orchestre symphonique de la Vallée du Haut-Saint-Laurent under Daniel Constantineau. Written in Baroque style and inspired by the music of Vivaldi and Bach, the movements and dances of Saisons and Turluteries are based on popular French songs of the 1960s as well as tunes by Mary Travers, better known as "La Bolduc."
