The band split in 2003, reuniting in 2007 with newfound musical patience and an unabashed love of T-Rex, My Morning Jacket, and Emmylou Harris. The Mother Ghost Sessions-recorded during the most creatively fertile period of the band's career-captured seven songs before the group disbanded again. Lost on outdated hard drives, the recordings were unearthed in 2023 and found to have aged remarkably well: free, open arrangements, Walkman-esque ambiance, and the childlike creative spirit that always marked Eyes of Autumn, now refined with patience and care.
